Councillors >Jacky Atkinson

We moved from Hong Kong to Adderbury in 1997 as our youngest son was a student at Bloxham School. Whilst in The Territory I held the position of Librarian in the English Section at the French International School. Prior to that, whilst accompanying my husband with the RAF, I have worked in a voluntarily capacity, in schools in Belize and Kuwait. After returning to the UK, I was the Librarian in charge at the split site Cherwell School in Oxford. For the past 17 ½ years I was the Organiser and Chair of Trustees of The Kids Lit Quiz UK, (An International Educational Literacy Charity for school children aged 10 – 14 years) and I co-ordinated its amalgamation with The National Literacy Trust in 2020. I was also a member of the Board of Trustees of The School Library Association and Calibre Audio library. I enjoy reading for pleasure, gardening and travel, which includes cruising and visiting our youngest son and family in Australia. Now that I have more time on my hands, I am delighted to have been co-opted unto Adderbury Parish Council where I hope that my skills will be beneficial to the village.
