Community Governance Review – Residents Participation in Second Stage of Consultation

As residents are aware, a petition was submitted to Cherwell District Council by West Adderbury Residents Association, for a Community Governance Review (CGR), requesting that the Parish of Adderbury is split into two Parish Council areas; East and West Adderbury.
Following the first round of consultation with residents, Cherwell District Council’s Working Group then recommended to the full Cherwell District Council that no separation of Adderbury Parish takes place. The report was accepted by the full Cherwell District Council on 19 October 2020.
As part of the process for a CGR, a second consultation is now being held, between 2 November 2020 and 4 January 2021. The full report and recommendations of the Working Group will then be submitted to Cherwell District Council on 22 February 2021.
The second consultation asks residents to consider the number of parish councillors and creating two wards for Adderbury Parish Council.
Every household in Adderbury, will by now have received a paper copy of the documents and they are also available on a dedicated page on Cherwell District Council’s web site.

It was good that so many residents took the time to provide their views in the first consultation and the Parish Council hopes that this will also be the case in this second consultation as it is only by reading the comments of as many residents as possible, that CDC’s Working Group will get a genuine understanding of the feelings of all of the village on this matter.
