The Parish Council is pleased to be able to report that the Cherwell District Council's Community Governance Review Working Group has now concluded the second stage of its consultation.
The CGR followed a request by West Adderbury Residents’ Association that the Parish Council be split and divided into two Parish Councils.
The Working Group is recommending that there are no changes to the Parish of Adderbury.
Cherwell District Council held a consultation process whereby residents were invited to comment on the proposal. After the first stage of the consultation process, it was agreed by Cherwell District Council that a separate Parish Council would not be created.
At the second stage of the consultation, residents were asked whether they wanted to increase the number of Councillors and also create a separate West Adderbury Ward.
However due to the high number of respondents who did not support these proposals, including the Parish Council, the Working Group will be recommending to Cherwell District Council on 22 February 2021, that no changes are made to the current Parish Council.
The Parish Council thanks all those who responded to the consultation process.
